The law experts at The Simmons Law Group are here to provide you with some of our favorite events taking place around Orlando. The following community organizations are holding community events, and it is our pleasure to introduce them.
Team Kareem Memorial Foundation
Team Kareem was developed by Mother, Arkeisha Reese after the tragic death of her son Kareem Angel Green. While attending a field trip, Kareem drowned in a pool. He was left unattended by the staff. Arkeisha, in his memory, developed a program that provides free swimming lessons and related services to children and families.
Team Kareem is excited about their 3rd annual walk to prevent drowning, which will take place on June 22nd, 2019. Participants will come together to remember Kareem and all of the other children that lost their lives to this preventable silent killer. Registration begins at 8:30 am Walk Start at 10:00 am. There will be vendors, food, raffles, bounce house, and more.
Convoy of Hope Orlando
The Convoy of Hope event is just the beginning of a long-lasting movement that has the power to transform people’s lives, inspire compassion and service, and bring people and organizations together like never before. This is a collaborative effort to bring hope to a city through free groceries, health screenings, job fairs, family portraits, haircuts, prayer, activities for children and more.
The event will take place July 26, 2019, at the Calvary Orlando in Winter Park, Florida, at 7 pm. The event serves the guests of honor, which serves dozens of communities throughout the world, by providing them with free groceries, health and dental screenings, haircuts, family portraits, meals and much more at our community events.
Family Volunteer Night at Rise Against Hunger Orlando
On the 1st Thursday of each month “Rise Against Hunger” hosts a Family Volunteer Night at the Orlando warehouse. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to serve by:

packaging meals

labeling meal bags
-
washing food bins
-
testing equipment
-
recording inventory
-
and helping with other warehouse tasks
They are in constant need of volunteer support in order for our Florida program to successfully prepare, package, ship, and distribute over 3 million meals in 2019. By volunteering a few hours of your time, you can make a global impact to feed students in school feeding programs around the world, as well as emergency crisis relief initiatives.
